New Feature: International Baccalaureate (IB Spanish B) Mapping

Continuing with our Q1 2026 roadmap, we are proud to announce the integration of the International Baccalaureate (IB) - Spanish B (Language B) into ColabEdu’s Grading V2 assessment engine.

Assessing under IB Criteria

The International Baccalaureate is characterized by a holistic assessment, structured through different Criteria (e.g., Criterion A: Language, Criterion B: Message, Criterion C: Conceptual Understanding). Especially in the Individual Oral exam, the workload for teachers during the Internal Assessment is enormous.

Architectural Integration

To provide native IB support on our platform, we have extended our YAML specifications:

1. C0 (IB Rubrics): Our global taxonomy (taxonomy.loc.int-ib.yaml) now encapsulates IB band descriptors. You no longer have to transcribe the guide document; the platform automatically selects it when configuring the course as “IB Diploma Programme”.

2. C1 and C2 (UI Interactivity): We have implemented new Widgets in the Flutter App to support visual stimuli (photographs) associated with the IB’s transversal themes (Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organization, Sharing the Planet).

3. C3 (Deterministic Grading): The SpecManager restricts Artificial Intelligence models to evaluate argumentative essays and oral presentations exactly as an IBO examiner would, justifying the band score (e.g., 10-12 points) with direct references to the transcript.
