Ecosystem and Community

The mission to transform educational assessment through Artificial Intelligence cannot, and should not, be the isolated effort of a single company. At ColabEdu, we firmly believe in the power of collective intelligence, open collaboration, and Digital Sovereignty.

The Open Assessment Specification (OAS) standard is just the cornerstone. Our ultimate goal is to build a global ecosystem and a vibrant community where educators, engineers, publishers, and governments collaborate to improve education worldwide.

1. ColabEdu Open Projects

To ensure that the heart of education remains public and auditable, ColabEdu releases and maintains Open Source projects aimed at fostering standardization:

  • The OAS Standard (v1beta1): The entire YAML specification, JSON schemas, and architectural documentation are open for any entity to freely adopt.
  • Base Libraries: We encourage the creation of open repositories of specs (laws, public rubrics, and taxonomies) so that institutions and developers don’t have to start from scratch.

The open model allows that if a university in Mexico improves a Critical Thinking rubric, a school district in Spain can analyze, adapt, and adopt it through a simple Pull Request.

2. OAS-Powered Solutions

While the OAS standard belongs to the community, at ColabEdu we develop scalable and high-performance software solutions based on this specification. These tools are designed to solve real-world problems at all levels of the educational system:

🎓 For Educators and Students

  • Teacher Copilots: Tools that assist teachers in creating exercises and rubrics, freeing them from bureaucratic burdens so they can focus on human interaction.
  • Interactive Socratic Tutors: Practice environments (Learning Gyms) for students that, unlike commercial LLMs (like ChatGPT), are “chained” to OAS directives to ensure the student is guided pedagogically and not given direct answers.

🏛️ For Governments and School Districts

  • Pedagogical Drift Control: Institutional dashboards that allow a district to verify that the artificial intelligence used in its classrooms is evaluating strictly under the laws and parameters of its region, without deviating towards ideological or corporate biases.
  • Large-Scale Audit and Diagnosis: Tools that analyze anonymized OAS assessment data to identify which specific competencies (e.g., Reading Comprehension or Mathematical Reasoning) require reinforcement at the district, state, or country level.

📚 For EdTech Providers and Publishers

  • Modernization Tools (Modernizers): AI pipelines designed to help traditional publishers ingest and transform their legacy editorial assets (textbooks and question banks in PDF) into the modern declarative OAS format.
  • Integration APIs: Interoperability systems so that existing LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas) can connect to the ecosystem and benefit from Deterministic Grading without needing to rewrite their entire platform.

3. Join the Mission

We are building the world’s fairest, most deterministic, and auditable assessment network. No matter your profile, there’s a place for you in the ColabEdu community:

  • Educators and Pedagogists: Help us refine taxonomies, create rubrics (Layer C0), or design innovative exercise recipes (Layer C1). Your expert knowledge is the soul of the standard.
  • Engineers and Developers: Contribute to Open Source tools, create new AI Agents, or integrate your own EdTech applications using the OAS protocol.
  • Governments and Regulators: Contact us to establish your own Sovereign Government Registry and start digitizing your region’s curriculum in an interoperable and future-proof way.

Technology is just the tool; collaboration is what truly scales impact. Let’s build the future of assessment together.
